Lazy days by the pool followed by pizza and gelato in the nearby medieval hilltop village of Anghiari are as much as many guests need. However there are some great things to do locally and further afield if you feel like it.
While you are here
a few hours out:
the Village of Anghiari
the Village of Caprese Michelangelo
the Monastry of La Verna
Visit Sansepolcro the town of Piero della Francesca
The nearest big town is Sansepolcro, where Piero della Francesca, the famous renaissance religious painter, was born. The town has a museum in his honour with one of his most famous paintings - the Resurrection - on permanent display.
a day out:
Florence
Siena
Ravenna and his bizantin Mosaics
Assisi
Urbino the town of Raffaello
watersports lovers:
one day by the sea
one day by the lake Trasimeno (windsurfing)
Wine lovers:
the CHIANTI tour
the MONTEFALCO tour
Activities and sports:
Horse Riding
We love the local riding school where you can have a beginners lesson with the English speaking teacher or if you are more experienced you can go for a trek in the surrounding hills.
the Spas
Sansepolcro swimmingpool and slides
The local lido in Sansepolcro is an enormous (unheated) pool with diving boards, a small paddling pool and two fantastic twisty slides. the diving boards are great fun for older kids and younger ones can sit on an adults knee on one of the slides, while the scarier slide is for older children and adults. We go on a hot day so the water temperature is a relief, and lounge around under the shady pine trees with a picnic and friends.
